Metabola, a new digital journal for psychoanalysis, theory, and contemporary culture
Metabola is a digital journal dedicated to the areas of psychoanalysis, theory, and contemporary culture. The principle of the journal is to explore those areas of psychoanalytic thought that sit beyond the clinic - its ‘extra-territories’.
If you are interested in writing for Metabola, you can send a proposals (<250-words), along with a short biographical statement (<150 words), to submissions@metabola.org.
We accept work in the following categories:
Original articles (between 700 - 1500 words);
Translations of previously untranslated work (any length);
and finally, Poetry, which also includes work that does not fall neatly into any of the above categories, such as Video, Sound Pieces, etc.
Generally all written work is published in English, with a short summary in the original language, if the text appears in translation.
Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis, and we will make an effort to respond to all submissions within 2-3 days.
For examples of work we currently publish, you can read the recent piece, (Bella) Freud’s Self-Analysis. If you’re interested in learning more about the reasoning behind Metabola, you can read our first Editorial, Towards a Negative Metabolism.
In all cases, we look forward to hearing from you.
